About Us

Mission statement: Statement Square 1

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit as our guide and mediator. We believe in Missio Dei, which states that we are participants in God’s dream for this world. We believe that we are justified through the blood of Christ, and therefore even in our flawed humanity we are worthy of Love, Hope, Peace and Faith. We believe that God has placed a call on all of humanity to make the Kingdom of God a reality in this world, as it is in heaven. We are a community who believes in going back to the basics of faith and to journey with God, regardless of the struggles this may imply. We believe that even the most broken, lost or struggling human being deserves the Love and Peace of God.

The stranger will always be welcome. The stranger will always find a home within this community. We believe in making a difference in everyday life. We believe in discipleship in its truest form, that being the daily living of the Gospel. We do not believe in using the Bible as an instrument to condemn others, but rather as an instrument to teach others. We believe that, due to each individual’s journey of faith, each member of the community has a significant input on the gospel story and the journey we call life. We

encourage open discussion and in-depth engagement with the Bible as a means to better understand God, humanity and the world.

We will not force the Gospel down on anyone, but rather engage on a personal level in open discussion. It is not our place to judge any person for their beliefs or religion, but it is our responsibility to respect their convictions. Any person is welcome to join the community, whether they believe in Christ or not, as long as they respect that this community is founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and will always operate from this point of departure. We encourage people of different beliefs to join the discussions and share their points of view and opinions.

Most of all, we believe that being part of this community makes you part of a family. We support one another, regardless of personal differences. We acknowledge that there will be differences between members of the community, and we embrace those differences with respect and dignity. We learn to understand one another, even though we do not always share the same opinion or point of view.

 Small Groups Mission Statement:

We believe that true discipleship can only be thoroughly developed within a small, guided community. Communities that will support each other regardless; love and care for one another, as well also keep one another accountable. Square 1 Ministries is devoted to not only be a support structure for small groups, but also a resource centre of theologically sound information. On the whole, we believe that denominations have no place in Christ, and that in Him, the denominational differences are bridged to bring forth a tangible Kingdom of God here on earth.

To be able to have a proper research team, there is a membership fee. R100.00 per member (One person per small group would need to register)
